Redesign email marketing communication to ensure the business keeps growing while we increase the quality standards. Responsible for creating the first Burberry design system (Sketch.v1 and Figma.v2), generate innovation within the team and mentor the broader team in design systems. The system allowed us to automate most of the online marketing production process. This automatisation allowed the brand to spend more time discovering new ways to engage with its audience. After a few months of running this program, Burberry identified a significant positive lift in their KPIs (direct and indirect) from previous years, doubling or tripling past results. Compass News | Principle Designer.
July 2017 - December 2018. London.
As a solo designer, my objectives were branding, product, digital, print and marketing support. I started by setting the rules for brand development and application across different platforms. Focused on UX and UI, defining personas, user flow, user journeys, we developed a product for consumers within the news industry, learning from users and iterating. Working within the ionic framework, we delivered an app for both platforms, iOS and Android, while we produced a web app. Building a design system allowed us to be consistent across different platforms. Part of Matter VC 8 accelerator program, we spent five intensive months based in New York City mastering design process.

Komodo Comunicación | Art Director.
March 2011 – July 2013 | Madrid
Komodo Comunicación is a multidisciplinary agency that delivers high-quality brand experiences. I worked as an art director, being part of different projects such as awards ceremonies, fashion catwalks, hospitality branding and brand events. I was involved in the briefing to sign off, which allowed me to enjoy the process of collaborating closely with clients and colleagues from different disciplines to ensure what we delivered was always at the highest quality. Working in an unconventional agency pushes your boundaries further every minute and allows you to learn from everyone that you collaborate with. I had the opportunity of working closely with providers which allowed me to learn about materials and techniques. I worked under Ignacio Luna (Creative Director and CEO), who taught me many different ways to consistently deliver the best of your work and to care about every single detail of the project you are working on.
Achievements at Komodo Comunicación:
AC Hotels by Marriott: in June 2011 AC hotels became part of the global hospitality group Marriot, changing the group name to AC Hotels by Marriot. With this key brand moment, the group had to adapt all their branding to the new times. It was an honour to work in this rebranding moment for the group. I applied the branding to all the hotel materials from Wayfinding & Signage to room or restaurant menus, giving me the opportunity to understand hospitality and have a better global vision. Also, I rebranded their four boutique hotels under the name Autograph Collection.
FEB (Spanish Basketball Federation) Museum: The museum became a necessity for the federation after several years of prosperity for their different teams. We had to promote the history of the Spanish Basketball while we delivered recent achievements in the Olympic Games and the Eurobasket. My role included producing printed visuals and assisting with the production in the museum.
Real Madrid C.F. 3rd kit packaging: Having the opportunity to collaborate with a global brand as Real Madrid always demands the highest standards. The team had to produce ad-hoc packaging, my role was to supervise the production to ensure the materials and quality matched with the brief and the brand.
Vogue Fashion Night: During Madrid Fashion Week, Vogue magazine brings fashion to the city centre by organizing night events and a variety of exhibitions. I produced big format prints of the most emblematic Vogue magazine covers that were an exhibit in one of the most iconic streets of the capital, Calle Serrano. The challenge in this project was controlling the quality of the pictures provided whilst being really careful with the print colour control.
Mahou and MFW - an homage to Elio Berhanyer: We designed an activation event for Maohu, the most emblematic beer brand from Madrid, where the brand paid homage to Elio Berhanyer for his 52 years in fashion, as one of the most influential and vanguardist Spanish designers from 1960 to 2012. I collaborated by producing the projected videos projected in between the three catwalks. With live shows you have to be reactive to technical problems. On this occasion we couldn’t play the sound from the videos so I had to coordinate the videos with live music from the DJ.
Pool CP | Layout and Art Director.
March 2008 – September 2009. Madrid.
Pool CP is an advertising agency specialized in retail and trade marketing. I joined the layout department where we were focused on producing retail print catalogues for clients such as Makro, Carrefour or  Feuvert. In these catalogues the amount of information was vast, therefore our challenge consisted of laying out large amounts of items and information in the most comprehensive way. What added more complexity was some of the brands produced a few catalogues every month where we had to accommodate different creativities. After a few months, I joined one of the creative teams where we were responsible for more detailed catalogues and magazines such as Ikea Print Patterns Magazine or Makro catalogue creativity. For the last 4 months, I moved to the in-house Ikea team where I was responsible for the Ikea Family Catalogue and collaborated in the production of the Ikea Main Catalogue translation and layout.
Makita España S.A. | Graphic Designer.
May 2005 – March 2008. Madrid.
Makita is a Japanese electric power tool, gardening equipment, pneumatic tools and household equipment producer. I joined the Spanish design team where we were responsible for producing materials such as catalogues, vouchers, datasheets, outdoor marketing, merchandising and support events and official dealers’ needs as part of the support to the sales team. Joining Makita gave me the opportunity to work on a huge variety of projects and lead a key department for the brand.
